Tooth Tip Tuesday

Dr. Miller and the other dentists at Pediatric Dentistry of Winter Park have created a video series called Tooth Tip Tuesday. In each video, our dentists offer helpful and concise advice to taking care of your child’s teeth. The videos are less than a minute long and deliver facts in an easy, friendly manner that appeals to our young patients and their guardians. The Tooth Tip Tuesday videos are uploaded to YouTube and are available to play on our website.

Tooth-N-Pooch

In spring 2021, Pediatric Dentistry of Winter Park will host its third-annual Tooth-N-Pooch Day. During this fun event, our patients will have the opportunity to be joined by a trained service dog during their dental appointment. The idea stemmed from noticing some of our young patients were anxious during their dental exams. With a dog by their side, they can have their fear alleviated and feel comfortable throughout their exam. Previous events featured four hypoallergenic service dogs with trainers at their side. These dogs took shifts to sit with patients during appointments of all kinds: from cleanings to x-rays. More details about the upcoming 2021 Tooth-N-Pooch event will be released soon.

Dental Health Awareness

February is Dental Health Awareness month. Usually, during this time of year, the dentists at Pediatric Dentistry of Winter Park visit local schools to share information about taking care of your oral health. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will not be able to make in-person appearances at schools. However, our dentists want to make sure our young patients know the importance of taking care of their teeth. Brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing daily are crucial steps in good oral hygiene. Keeping your mouth clean will make sure you do not have dental problems later in life. Feel free to contact our office for more information about our school presentations. We hope to resume this engagement in person in 2022.
